From Prague, city of my birth, the ancient heart of European culture, I draw on a rich history of the region and its surroundings. In studying Middle Eastern culture and Sufism I discovered a fascination with their arts, the lushness of materials and most of all the poetry and mysticism. I have been shaped by my experience as a long time practitioner and teacher of Kundalini Yoga under the tutelage and direction  of the late Master Yogi Bhajan.

I draw upon my travels, the journeys, and life experiences in the diversity of the world. My work is inspired by the interwoven textures of all of the above as well as boundless excitement for life. I am taken by poetry and the mystic, the plain and the rich. I am taken by the colours, the textures, the visual and tactile sensations in a fibre medium which bring me calm, harmony, and fulfillment. My work is an expression of my passion for life, a celebration of romance, sensuality and spirit, a celebration of flowing form, lightness and freedom of space, emphasizing style and grace, the exotic and mystical life within, the poetry of a daily life.

I have lived and traveled extensively through Europe and Central and North America before making my home on Cortes Island in the Canadian Pacific.

The unique blend of old world heritage, new world vision, and  personal eccentricity combine with studies in art and design with schools in Prague, Milan and here in Victoria to enhance natural talent for creating beautiful art pieces. All my works are designed and created at my home, on Cortes Island, Canada. From our home, my husband Jack Wills and I also run Cortes Security & On-Site Services.

Erika's work can be found at boutiques and galleries around the Pacific Northwest. She receives private commissions from clients across the world.
